Indiana is packed with beautiful, surprising places, and the Dunes are certainly one of them. Right on the shore of Lake Michigan, Indiana Dunes is one of the nation’s newest national parks—with 15,000 acres of nature, over 50 miles of trails, and dunes that tower nearly 250 feet high.
Millions of people stop by their sandy beaches each year, looking out at the scene of lighthouses and sailboats on the water with the Chicago skyline shining off in the distance.
And yet you’re nestled in this peaceful place, a paradise where you can experience natural wildlife, plants, and habitats that were here well before our state was even a state.
